External recognition and charter marks

London Met is proud to be one of the most diverse, socially inclusive and transformative universities in the UK. Charter marks are frameworks and accreditations that we use at London Met to demonstrate and progress our commitment to Equality, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EEDI).

Our People Strategy and Centre for Equity and Inclusion (CEI) Strategy commit us to achieving equality charter marks, helping us to strengthen inclusion, identify and address inequalities, and ensure that everyone at London Met feels valued and able to thrive. This includes Athena Swan, the Race Equality Charter, Stonewall Proud Employers and the Disability Confident schemes.

Our Self Assessment Team (ASREC)

The Athena Swan and Race Equality Charter Sub-committee (ASREC) is London Met’s Self-Assessment Team (SAT) for both Athena Swan and the Race Equality Charter. Consisting of staff and students from across the university, ASREC is the steering group responsible for analysing institutional data, consulting with the University community, and developing action plans to drive gender, race and intersectional equality.

ASREC is a sub-committee of London Met’s Equality, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee (EEDI), which oversees ASREC’s delivery of this work. ASREC is co-chaired by the Executive Director of People and the Head of Policy and Charter Marks.
